Recently I had someone contact me to ask the question: "Can you really earn (fill-in your amount) per month in network marketing?"

Everyone finds a business that they believe suits them and meet's their goal for generating income. They let it run for a few months or more, they decide to get on the internet...

...It is promised to be the salvation for your business! In no time you'll be generating an endless supply of leads.

So when I received the question above which had a web address attached to it, I visited the blog and found basic SEO mistakes.

Are You Passionate About Your Business?

Everyone starts with the best intentions once they undertake building their own business.

Often we find that after years of time have past that we’re not really interested in what we are doing...

... Call it a midlife crisis if you will.

Our original passion may have come for the money that we thought we would be making in our business. But, as the headaches that came with building and running it began to set in our attitude changed.

Having been involved in the network marketing industry for almost a decade now, even my passion ebbs and flows on a daily basis.

Often I’ll stop and rethink is this what I really want to be doing?

Yet, I’m not alone when it comes to this self evaluation. People spend most of their lives evaluating exactly that, and often they don’t like the results.

Take a job for instances, most people clearly do as little as possible. After all you’re only trading time for dollars right? Then we wonder why we are passed over for promotions and our pay raises never really amount to much either.

As yourself the question am I in the right job?

...If not maybe it’s time to something you’d be more passionate about.

The same applies to a business, many people come into network marketing and spend years bouncing from one company to the next. They never really do find anything that they can become passionate about.

This is where a little education before you begin can go a long way towards helping you find what you want!

Network Marketers Still Using Autodialers

It is hard to believe that even with all of the penalties that could be imposed, a few marketers are still using and promoting Auto-Dialers! Over the past week I've received several calls from individuals using the dreaded auto-dialer.

You opt out of the system and they still keep calling, it's just amazing that some people either have not gotten the word yet or simply do not care. I have had one guy (we'll call him Bob, yes that's his real first name) call no less than 3 different times in the past two days...

...Lets see at $16,000 per call that is adding up very quickly. I had written about this on my network marketing blog, the post was titled "FTC New Rules On Robocalls
Will it Affect You."

Now he did say that he had visited my website and like my business but he had a question! We all know that story, he never really visited the website, this is simply a technique used to get you to call back...

...Now how Lame is that technique?

Smart marketers would at least tell you something about the site, what they like, what questions they may have. Yet, it just goes to show that had this individual spent anytime at all at LeadersClub he would have known that this approach does not work in network marketing!

When, you stop and think that this guy is now on the hook for possibly $48,000.00 in fines from the FTC he'd better hope that it is worth it. It really is sad that you have a few individuals and companies that ruin it for the rest of us.

By ruin I'm talking about creating a negative perception about what we do as network marketers. Now the real question is should I forward this information to the FTC, I've already left a message after the first call he made and still he called twice after that...

... Decisions, Decisions!

No Squidoo Love - Yet

Awhile back, I created a few Squidoo lens to see whether it would generate any traffic at all.

As expected over the past year it did not generate any traffic at all. to any of the sites which the lenses had links to.

Kind of Ironic isn’t it, yet of course with no incoming links it would be hard to find them at all. Most people at the time where really pushing the point of how it would generate traffic, but as I’ve said I did not find that to be the case.

The first Squidoo page I created was "What Makes Network Marketing Work." Just some thoughts and opinions on network marketing. It really is kind of ironic that you create a page, to promote yourself, and your competing with all the ads that are relevant to your page.

The Second Squidoo Lens I created "Glenn Burks”, made a little more sense in that it has my name on it. I guess something I’d recommend, since if you become famous some low-life may have already hi-jacked your name.

The Third Lens on Squidoo, I created is "The Truth About Network Marketing Leads.” I wrote this lens to illustrate the misunderstanding that most people have about leads. They tend to forget that they are people, and treat them as some kind of commodity.

Still to this day I cannot see why people would create pages on Squidoo, if they already have a website or blog. It would seem that you’d be better off creating content on your own sites.

It does give someone, the lowest possible cost in creating a page on the internet. Yet, there are many other services that would allow you to do the same. Such as wordpress, blogspot etc..

How Do you Discover The best Network Marketing Opportunity?

It seems that everyone today is searching for some kind of opportunity that will generate a secondary or even a primary income stream.

If you tune into the news each day, you’ll find a steady stream of companies laying off employees. More people are finding out the jobs they once though where secure are...

...well I think you get the picture.

I was talking to a good friend of mine whom I used to work with. About 2 months ago the company I used to work for, laid off quite a few people...

Hey times are tough right, everybody is cinching their belts just a little tighter. The latest news is that they will now work 6 weeks on, with 3 weeks off, although the company made approx. 500 million in the last quarter.

It’s no wonder that people really feel insecure about the future. More people are looking at some form of home business...

...it could be that maybe they are finally getting tired of being stuck on a treadmill, running faster, yet getting nowhere.

An untold number of people are search each day looking for the best network marketing opportunity. As they wade through all the information out there, it all becomes confusing.

They really cannot find the information that they need to make informed decisions. Most of the companies have information on their sites, yet sometimes the information maybe misleading.

Case In point, a couple of years ago one network marketing company involved in the travel industry state in a video “Get involved in the $7 trillion travel industry!”

I hope you can see how statements like that only set the company up for failure down the road.

If we educate ourselves a little, we can make better decisions about any company we look at. You may even discover after a little education and research that network marketing is not your idea of the perfect business.

We have to face the fact that not everyone is cut out for sales and marketing. Network marketing is truly a relationship business, as most businesses should be today.

Is Coaching Essential For Your Success?

Do you really need coaching to become successful, this is possibly a question that only you can answer. When you take a close look at very successful people they have many mentors-coaches in their life.

When we look into home business or network marketing coaching we definitely have to be careful. Many claim to be a coach yet really have no credentials at all, other then simply giving themselves that tag or badge.

So how does someone who is just starting out wade through all of the garbage out there today...

One of the things you should look for is do they have a code of ethics that they follow? I bring this up, because one of my uplines who was a coach, when he left attempted to raid my downline by using email campaigns.

That was truly unethical behavior...

A coaching session can help you to determine your wants and goals. Then through co-active coaching a plan can be worked out to help you reach these goals. A good coach, guides you to seeing your own solutions to your challenges.

If you’re involved with network marketing, no doubt you have an upline. Many people falsely believe that they are the answer to all of their training, nothing could be further from the truth.

In fact they may not even be qualified to lead, coach or training anyone... In fact all they maybe qualified for is a great motivator!

In many ways, the coach that you choose, should be well versed in multiple marketing methods. If they start telling you a particular style of marketing does not work, yet you see others doing it and achieving success, maybe it’s time to look for a new coach!

A good coach will assist you in building your business, whether it is warm market, cold market, leads etc...

One of the positive benefits, is generally you’ll achieve goals in a drastically reduced time frame. And today that makes more sense then ever before.

Of course you should also make sure that coaching fits within your budget. There is no sense paying for a coach, if there is nothing left over to market your business!
